It's slow at work today (don't tell the boss)... so I thought I'd post a list I've been casually working on for a while. It's random things about me, issue 47. Or something.
I expect you to share something too!
- I have no idea what pashmina (as in a pashmina sweater) is, but I sure think it’s a fun word!
- I have been known to buy self-help books and never finish them. In some cases I never even start them. Maybe I just like knowing they’re there?
- I am part Cherokee Indian. I am also part Irish.
- My mother, at 5’5”, weighed 105 pounds until I was a teenager. What’s funny about that is she primarily sustained herself on Lay’s potato chips, peanut M&M’s, and Coca Cola. On the other hand, I gain a pound if I even think of a bag of Lay's.
- I love tomatoes and everything made of them. Except tomato soup and V8. Tomato soup and V8 are both just flat disgusting.
- I'm a total online video game nerd. Some of my very best friends today, I met in online games ten or more years ago... and I have never met most of them in person.
- I LOVE to be in the water but I rarely go to the pool thanks to my refusal to be seen in a bathing suit. I'm working on this.
- I lost over 75 pounds in 2007. Then I hurt my back. I've regained about 50 of it. So I figure it's only a 66% failure. *cough*
- My dream job is to be a writer.
- My dream vacation involves traveling the US and Canada in an RV.
- I hate heat with a passion. If it's over 70° and the sun is out, I'm looking for an air conditioner. The sun feels like it's cooking me from the inside out and I can't cool off. I've asked three doctors about this and they've all told me to avoid the sun or wear a hat. (No, really, thanks doc! That was totally worth $150!)
- I'm 33 years old and I still occasionally go to elementary school playgrounds to swing. (No, not when the kids are there, that'd be creepy of me.)
- I can clean my kitchen from top to bottom without missing a beat... EXCEPT the little traps in the sinks. I nearly vomit if I have to touch them, even if they're totally empty/clean.
- Hubby and I met while working together, but quickly developed a very close friendship which mostly consisted of going out fishing (or ice fishing) until 4am several times a week. Everyone thought we were, well, ya know... but we weren't. Those are some of my very best memories.
- I used to drink three or four or six Cokes a day. I loved the energetic feeling. Then my heart said KNOCK IT OFF (atrial-fibrillation-what?) and now I don't do caffeine at all, except my hot chocolate!
- It took me three separate tries at college over a span of 15 years before I managed to finish it.
- I love to sing in the car! I have been laughed at by strangers at many a red light in my time. It's embarrassing, but I don't stop singing!
- What's funny is that Aidan is beginning to "sing" in the car when I sing too. It's the cutest thing ever.
- Did I mention I'm not a fan of heat? It's 78° in my office and I still have an hour to go. It's been like this for a week now. Silly me - I thought I lived in Alaska, for crying out loud!
- I have a not-so-secret crush on Tim McGraw. Mrowr.

You made me realize something very weird. I could give a crap about what I look like in a swimsuit, but I hate getting in the water....lol... how odd is that?
I sing in the car too! I might even dance a bit too, lol!
Driving around the US & Canada in an RV. I'll have to try that one out...
I hate the heat too... 100 summers in Colorado, I am SOOO over, cannot wait to get back to Washington this summer. What makes me laugh is when actors talk about "oh, this scene was so cold, it was 50 degrees!" and I think "hey, 50 degrees is perfect!" LOLOL!!!
I've been slowly re-watching the first two seasons of True Blood in anticipation of the 3rd season being released on the 31st and am like a little kid at Christmastime very impatient for my pre-ordered copy to arrive.
Love it! I sing in the car too :) And I guess you'll never come visit here because it was 97 today :)
Girl, you picked the right state to live in! I'm just the opposite - I can't stand to be cold and reach for a sweater at 68! :) I guess Texas is just the right state for me, too!
My not-so-secret crush is John Corbett (Aiden from Sex and the City). Yumm.
I am the same exact way about heat. Everyone is complaining here that it's been in the 50s/60s today and I have LOVED IT. Anything over 70 and all I want to do is go swimming. So much so that I don't even care if people see me in a bathing suit. When I get out I cover myself with a towel very quick...but when I am in there I can stay in there for hours.I love water and it's the only good thing about summer. Well, that and fruit. But that is it.
Oh, and I am the same way about those gross sink things...ick ick ick.
